A few months ago my husband and I went to Bowral, a beautiful town in the Southern Highlands of N..S.W. (Australia), approx. and hour drive from my place. It's a rural retreat for the elite gentry of Sydney, resulting in the establishment of many historic estates and manor houses in the district.               We had a very nice day, the tulips were beautiful, I took some photos to share with you......

NEW PATTERN, Beani Jesters: Leo & Lilli

A little while ago I gave you a sneak peak of my Beani Jesters: Leo & Lilli, ( thank you for all the name suggestions), well they are now available as a pattern.
I will have it for instant download at www.dollstreetdreamers.com
and http://t.co/ECcOFfq   today or tomorrow.

These little characters are fun and easy to make, they are filled with plastic pellets, which when adjusted make the dolls poseable.
You can make elves and Christmas characters just by using the appropriate coloured fabrics.

Another exciting thing that has happened in our house hold is that my son, Carmelo/ Robert was on X Factor- Australia recently, he did very well, got a trip to New York and made it to the top 24, if you would like to see some more of his performances, go to his you tube, click-
 http://t.co/4QzuTap

For everyone who has been watching my son's journey, I want to say thank you so much for all the support for Carmelo and our family, through all your messages left on Facebook, twitter, you tube, our emails and here, we are so proud of how he has touched so many people and made them smile, you definatly haven't seen the last of him........keep checking his you tube for new videos.

As usual life has not giving me much creative time.....
I have managed to finish a few projects though,  my Beani Jesters.
They have no names as yet, so if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them, I'm planning to make a few other characters.
And here is the full view of my beani jesters.....by adjusting the plastic pellets inside their bodies I can pose these dolls in different positions.

NEW CAMERA

A few weeks ago I was about to take some photos and I accidentally dropped my camera, I was so upset it was such a good little camera.
Anyway I had to get another one, over the last 10 years or so I've had 2 cameras, both were Olympus,  they were quite good, easy to use and take good photos.
I went shopping and I did a bit of comparing, prices and features, ended up with another Olympus, this time  got one of the 'tough' models, shouldn't break if I drop it. When I started playing with it, some of the features were really interesting, it has a 'Magic' mode where pics can be taken as a  'Drawing'-
There is also a 'Water colour' mode, where the pics you take look like
they've been painted with water colours.

Here's a drawing, water colour and new photos of Jack and the Beanstalk
I've added a bit more to the piece and he is running as a workshop next month, more info at- http://tinyurl.com/6p6dfpx

This is a rose and cupid in my garden

This camera has many more features, just have to find the time to play.......

JACK and the BEANSTALK

It's been fun making my version of Jack and the Beanstalk, with a big interruption in the middle, 3 weeks ago I was lying in an O.R. at Fairfield Hospital, to make a long story short, there were a few hiccups with the operation and my recovery, but finally this week I'm happy to say, I'm finally feeling much better.
Anyway, Jack is coming down the Beanstalk with his new treasures, as fast as he can, he has to chop down the beanstalk before the giant can come down.
There is the hen that laid the golden eggs and the singing harp.............
What do you think?

HELLO in 2012

Happy 2012, it's already February, hope the year has started well for you.
It's been a few months since I've been here.
A few days ago had the pleasure of spending the day with my bella cousin, visiting the Art Gallery of New South Wales, (Australia), for the Picasso exhibition.
Of course we weren't allowed to use our cameras but I did purchase some post card sized prints.....
Jacqueline with crossed Hands   Nude and Still Life

The Reader            Portrait of Dora Maar

I loved most of Picasso's work, there were a few pieces that were a bit strange, my favourite was the above paintings but the one I loved the most was the Harlequin sculpture.

I have started on a new project myself, here is what I've done so far......

Looks a bit like a beanstalk don't you think, well  hope it does......                               more coming....stay tuned!
